Every year I attend a number of industry conferences focused on global trade compliance. I speak with a lot of different people at these events, and they hold a range of job responsibilities, with varying degrees of trade compliance expertise. I can’t confirm whether Punxsutawney Phil was standing in the registration lines at this year’s National Retail Federation Big Show a few weeks ago in New York City, but thousands of retailers overwhelmed the check-in stations early in the morning – setting the pace for the following days. As signified by the amount of attendees and ensuing discussion, retail is alive, well and showing its strength!
ecVision has exhibited at this annual event for the last 8 years, taking the good with the bad in stride. This year the high levels of interest in our supply chain collaboration platform and proven customer successes drew in attendees with definitive goals in mind. The theme of all the conversations we had with retailers followed similar lines – the need to streamline internal processes and integrate data across all of the technology solutions in the enterprise to reduce cost and risk, while increasing velocity and agility.
